Main lines of research

My work focuses on the role of technology in development and economic growth. Much of the research deals with issues related to technology transfer, capacity building and impact of new technologies on developing countries, particularly in the area of information and communication technologies. In a related line of research, I study the role of universities in innovation systems and development.

  • Closing the Loop – Making Research and Innovation Matter in Developing Countries. Funded by Sida/Sarec. (Project leader)
  • Putting Knowledge to Better Use - Industry responsiveness to gender differences in ICT demand in Vietnam. Funded by SPIDER. (Project leader)
  • Women Scientists in Gender-Specific Technological R&D – How do Women Scientists in Technological R&D respond to the Needs of Women End-Users (WOSISTER)? Funded by the European Commission. (Project coordinator).
  • Developing Universities – The Evolving Role of Academic Institutions in Innovation Systems and Development (UniDev). Funded by Sida/Sarec. (Joint project coordinator).
