Interests
History of modern science; science and technology studies; scientific and technological futurism; science and the media; the Cold War and science; studies of scientific practice; STS perspectives on food studies; commemorative practices in science and their policy implications; academic blogging; space policy.
At the moment, I’m finishing papers on boundary spanning activities in the physical sciences during the Cold War in Sweden, exemplified by Yngve Öhman and solar physics; science in the mediation juncture, exemplified by meteorology in the early 20th century; Cold War futurology and its impact in Sweden.
I teach on our introductory STS course and am assistant supervisor for two graduate students: Henrik Johansson at History of science and ideas (subject: Swedish international scientific contacts 1900-1950); Sara Kjellberg, Library and information science (subject: weblogs and open access in science).
